Eugene, OR
Kira B. Homo holds an MLS from Indiana University and an MA in Medieval Studies from the University of Toronto. As the Electronic Records Archivist in Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Oregon, she is responsible for ingest, access, and preservation of born-digital and digitized materials across all collections and formats–sound, still image, moving image, and text files from manuscript collections, University Archives, photographs, and rare books. Kira is broadly interested in the challenges of providing access to born-digital or digitized collections that come with minimal (or no) descriptive metadata. Her main research area involves exploring technological solutions for the mass-creation of metadata with a goal of improving access to digital material.
